At the height of a chocolate craving, I have been known to dig through cupboards and bags looking for the forgotten remnants of the dark gold. The panic and the hope all wrapped into frantic looking.
Maybe you are thinking I should seek special help or you are right there with me. The Chocolate Panic!
I think milk chocolate is fine if you like that type of thing but it is disappointingly sweet. Lacking depth and intense flavour. When I’m looking for the chocolate pow I want it deep and dark.
So if that’s what you like then you have come to the right place.
A bitter square melting on your tongue is bliss but add an avocado and some cacao powder and you have got a party! When making chocolate ganache I use to get this same texture with whipping cream but sadly it’s high in fat but not high in nutrients. So let’s call in the veg! The glowing “avo” when you can get this silky creaminess from a vegetable then you know it has to be from above. This dish is super simple, super healthy, and super good. Lets here is for the “3 Supers!”
Dark Chocolate Avocado Cherry Pots
(make 4 good size pots or 6 small)
2 ripe Avocados
200g good quality dark chocolate
2 Tbsp raw cacao powder
splash vanilla extract
12 cherries with stem
Melt your chocolate till smooth. Blend your avocados in a food processor and then add your melted chocolate, vanilla, and cacao powder. Blend until smooth and spoon into ramekins or small mugs. Add your cherries and a sprinkle of sea salt for added flavour. Chill in the fridge till cold about 30mins. Enjoy the fudgy glory!
